Feminine Power Time: The December Downshift and Uplift Practice

The December Downshift serves as an annual ritual that we return to consistently, sending a clear message to our internal body systems, as well as to the individuals and initiatives surrounding us, that it is time to initiate a deliberate slowdown rather than becoming engulfed in the chaotic swirl of year-end pressures, holiday frenzy, or the subsequent demands of launching into the new year.

This approach embodies a cyclical rhythm of co-creation and a structured framework designed to emulate the patterns observed in the natural world, which has successfully thrived and prospered for billions of years, offering us a proven blueprint for sustainable evolution, growth, and flourishing.

Consider the concept of downshifting at the close of the year akin to operating a vehicle with a manual transmission. It is unwise to maintain high-speed momentum through December in fifth gear, sustaining an intense pace, elevated output, and lingering mental or emotional stress from preceding weeks or months, only to abruptly shift into neutral during the final days of the year. Such a sudden halt risks overwhelming and damaging your entire system.

Consequently, you might find yourself requiring extensive recovery in the new year from excessive indulgence, overactivity, lavish spending, and superficial connections, leaving you depleted rather than energized and prepared to embrace fresh opportunities.

A far more intelligent strategy involves progressing through the gears progressively, spanning several weeks, allowing you to truly cherish your relationships, profoundly restore your vitality, and openly receive the fruits of your efforts from the prior 12 to 13 months. This method empowers you to make decisions that foster your physical health, mental clarity, and readiness to welcome inspiration, profound insights, and clear direction for prioritizing and collaboratively shaping the year ahead.

Each year, although the core process of year-end downshifting remains consistent across its four distinct phases—relax, rest, replenish, and regenerate—the specific emphasis and nuances shift according to the unique energies of that particular year.

For this year, as I attuned myself to crafting the December Downshift practice tailored for you, I discerned that incorporating a Consciousness Uplift would provide additional benefits.

This uplift enables us to genuinely restore our inner light, release accumulated stress, acknowledge the tangible progress and transformations stemming from our dedicated efforts and nurturing intentions, and engage with the ongoing internal heart alchemy. This includes liberating ourselves from outdated inner patterns and past experiences that are now ripe for healing and release.

Our journey today revolves around the following foundational themes. I will lead you through contemplative meditations and offer wisdom inquiries to guide your decision-making throughout December and January, ensuring your choices energize you, nurture your well-being, and align with your deepest truths. These wisdom inquiries are detailed toward the end of this piece.

The key areas of focus include:

  • Ritual and Rhythm
  • Reflect, Recognize
  • Release, Reset, Restore
  • Resonance, Receive

We will illuminate aspects such as the unseen influences of your energy and dedication, the building momentum from steady, incremental advancements, practical rituals and rhythms to implement during December and January, and discerning choices rooted in inner wisdom—what truly restores and replenishes you—over those driven by obligation, guilt, or fear of missing out.

Over the past 16 years, I have developed this framework spanning December and January specifically for co-creators, leaders, and those committed to approaching life with greater wisdom and differentiation. We reconvene annually—stay connected weekly through the podcast and participate in the live sessions.

With heartfelt intention,

Christine

Wisdom Inquiries

Ritual and Rhythm

  1. What rituals and rhythms have effectively supported your energy system? Which practices have helped you sustain clarity, transition from discomfort to intuitive knowing, and deeply replenish your vitality?
  2. What elements tend to diminish your radiance, deplete your energy, or disrupt your natural frequency? Conversely, what keeps you grounded, centered, and fully replenished?

Reflect, Recognize, Receive

Invisible Impact

  1. Who are the individuals whose lives have been positively touched by your presence, energy, or caring attention this year? Visualize their faces and allow yourself to feel and acknowledge the real impact you have made.
  2. What projects or initiatives have you invested your energy into that proved vital, even if they did not receive widespread external validation or recognition?

Incremental Progress

  1. In what areas have you achieved steady, incremental progress—both in your personal life and professional endeavors—even if completion remains pending? Take note of the momentum generated this year, which you can harness and build upon in the coming year.

Release, Reset, Replenish

  1. What is one element you feel prepared to release and leave behind as 2025 concludes—perhaps a habit, a material possession, a relationship dynamic, or a recurring pattern?
  2. Are there obligations, perceived shoulds, or fears of missing out influencing your choices during December and January? Counter this by seeking the sacred third option or embracing honesty about your genuine needs to release and reset.
  3. What do you require—physically for your body, mentally for your mind, emotionally for your heart, and spiritually for your essence—to fully regenerate, reset, and replenish in preparation for the next yearly cycle?

Resonance

  1. What alternative choices can you implement in December and January regarding the allocation of your time, financial resources, and energy, ensuring they resonate deeply with your core values?
